APPENDIX THREE.
The Moon’s orbital period = 27.32166 Earth days, and the names and rotation periods (expressed in Earth days) of The Sun and Inner Solar System Planets are:- The Sun 24.66225 and Mercury 58.6462 and Venus 243.0187 and Earth 0.9972697 and Mars 1.02596
To verify these periods, see The Planetary Scientist’s Companion, by Lodders and Fegley< Oxford University Press 1998, Table 2.4 or alternatively, go to the following web page:- www.solarsystemtimeperiods.com/planet-orbital
DEMONSTRATION:-
During One Moon orbital period, The Sun rotates
(27.32166 ÷ 24.66225) = 1.1078 rotations.
0.1078 x 360 = 38.8 degrees.
That is:- 1 complete rotation + 38.8 degrees.
During One Moon orbital period, Venus rotates
(27.321661 ÷ 243.0187) = 0.1124 rotations.
0.1124 x 360 = 40.47 degrees.
During One Moon orbital period, Earth rotates
(27.32166 ÷ 0.9972697) = 27.3965 rotations.
0.3965 x 360 = 142.7 degrees.
That is:- 27 complete rotations + 142.7 degrees.
During One Moon orbital period, Mars rotates
(27.32166 ÷ 1.025956 = 26.630 rotations.
0.6304 x 360 = 226.9 degrees.
That is:- 26 complete rotations + 226.9 degrees.
