The reason why the circle has to be divided into specifically EIGHT segments is as follows:- It is a basic fact of cosmic “numerology” that a single specific number prevails in the cosmos, at both the microscopic and the macroscopic level. This is the number EIGHT. The number EIGHT prevails in the structure of the atom, in the order of the periodic table (in chemistry), in the movements of the planets, in the musical scale, etc. It goes by various names – The Octet Rule, The Law of Octaves, The Octants Rule. etc. That is the reason why the circle has to be divided into specifically EIGHT segments, these segments being separated by OCTANTS, which are EIGHT radiuses of the circle.
Below, you can see the various manifestations of The Number EIGHT in The Cosmos.
THE “RULE OF EIGHT” IN THE COSMOS. THE MUSICAL SCALE.
I will now show how the number EIGHT applies to the musical scale.
Here is the musical (diatonic) scale:-
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
A B C D E F G A
Also, the ratios of the diatonic (major) scale in music are (all but one) perfect multiples of ONE EIGHTH. To verify this, here is a scan from the book The Theory of Sound in its relation to Music, by Professor Pietro Blaserna of The Royal University of Rome, published by Henry S. King and co., London, 1876, page 127:-
1 = 8/8
and then there is 9/8
and then there is 5/4 which is equal to 10/8
and then there is 4/3 which is a reversal of the ratio 3/4 which is equal to 6/8
and then there is 3/2 which is equal to 12/8
and then there is 5/3 which is NOT a multiple of one eighth
and then there is 15/8
and then there is 2 which is equal to 16/8
THE “RULE OF EIGHT” IN THE COSMOS. THE STRUCTURE OF THE ATOM.
Now we come to the number EIGHT involved in the structure of the atom.
An atom consists of a nucleus surrounded by electrons which form an “electron shell”, or “valence shell”. Atoms “prefer” to have EIGHT electrons in their outer electron shell. To substantiate this statement, here is a quote from Wikipedia:-
THE OCTET RULE refers to the tendency of atoms to prefer to have EIGHT electrons in the valence shell. When atoms have fewer than EIGHT electrons, they tend to react and form more stable compounds. In 1904, Richard Abegg formulated what is now known as Abegg's rule, which states that the difference between the maximum positive and negative valences of an element is frequently EIGHT. This rule was used later in 1916 when Gilbert N. Lewis formulated the "OCTET RULE" in his cubical atom theory. Atoms will react to get in the most stable state possible. A complete OCTET is very stable because all orbitals will be full. A stable arrangement is attended when the atom is surrounded by EIGHT electrons. This OCTET can be made up by own electrons and some electrons which are shared. Thus, an atom continues to form bonds until an OCTET of electrons is made.
The number EIGHT also appears in the periodic table of the elements.
Here is a quote from the book Aids to Inorganc Chemistry, by R. G. Austin, B.Sc, published by Balliere, Tindall, and Cox, 1946, page 39:- Newlands noticed that if the elements are arranged in the order of increasing atomic weights, the EIGHTH element, starting from a given one, resembles the first, like the EIGHTH note in an OCTAVE of music. Hence the arrangement was called by Newlands “THE LAW OF OCTAVES”.
Now, I will show you some examples of THE LAW OF OCTAVES.
Here are the first twenty elements (with their symbols) in order of their atomic numbers .
Hydrogen (H), Helium (He), Lithium (Li), Beryllium (Be), Boron (B), Carbon (C), Nitrogen (N), Oxygen (O), Fluorine(F), Neon(Ne), Sodium (Na), Magnesium (Mg), Aluminium (Al), Silicon (Si), Phosphorus (P), Sulphur (S), Chlorine (Cl), Argon (Ar), Potassium (K), and Calcium (Ca).
Now, I will quote from the book Pt The Periodic Table, a Visual Guide to The Elements, by Tom Jackson, published by White Lion Publishing.
On page 18, the author discusses The Alkali Metals. These are Lithium, Sodium, and Potassium. These elements all have similar properties.

You can see that Chlorine is EIGHT elements further on from Fluorine.
On page 32, the author discusses The Noble Gases, Helium, Neon, and Argon. They all have similar properties. They are called “noble” because they will not form compounds with other elements. They are “snobbish” (or “noble”).
Here again are the elements (with their symbols) in order of their atomic numbers .
Hydrogen (H), Helium (He), Lithium (Li), Beryllium (Be), Boron (B), Carbon (C), Nitrogen (N), Oxygen (O), Fluorine(F), Neon(Ne), Sodium (Na), Magnesium (Mg), Aluminium (Al), Silicon (Si), Phosphorus (P), Sulphur (S), Chlorine (Cl), Argon (Ar), Potassium (K), and Calcium (Ca).
You can see that Neon is EIGHT elements further on from Helium, and that Argon is EIGHT elements further on from Neon.
Now we come to the number EIGHT in The Solar System.
First of all, Solar System bodies are arranged in groups of EIGHT.
Secondly, the ratios between planetary orbital velocities tend to be multiples of ONE EIGHTH.
Thirdly, and most importantly, the movements of Solar System bodies “obey” a “rule of EIGHTHS”, which I have called The Octants Rule. It is this Octants Rule that is inexplicable in terms of The Laws of Newtonian Physics,
THE “RULE OF EIGHT” IN THE COSMOS. SOLAR SYSTEM GROUPS CONTAINING EIGHT MEMBERS.
Many groups of planets or satellites contain specifically EIGHT members.
(1). There are EIGHT Planets, ie:- Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. (Pluto is often counted as a “Trans-Neptunian Object, rather than a “proper” planet.) To confirm this, go to the following web page:-

(4). Jupiter has EIGHT “Regular” Satellites, ie:- the Four LARGE (“Galilean”) Satellites – Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. Inferior to these are Four Small Satellites – The “Inner” Satellites (sometimes called The “Amalthean” Satellites). These are:- Metis, Adrastea, Amalthea, and Thebe. To confirm this, go to the following web pages:-

(8). There are EIGHT High Obliquity bodies in The Planetary System. The Sun (with obliquity to the ecliptic of 7.15 degrees), and the following planets with the following obliquity to their orbits:- Venus 177.4 degrees, and Earth 23.45 degrees, and Mars 25.19 degrees, and Saturn 26.73 degrees, and Uranus 97.86 degrees, and Neptune 29.56 degrees, and Pluto 122.5 degrees. (The only LOW Obliquity planets are:- Mercury 0.5 degrees, and Jupiter 3.12 degrees.). To confirm this, go to the following web page:-

THE “RULE OF EIGHT” IN THE COSMOS. PLANETARY ORBITAL VELOCITIES.
The ratios between planetary orbital velocities tend to be multiples of ONE EIGHTH. There is absolutely no logical reason why this should be so. The laws of physics cannot explain why it happens. Iohannes Kepler was the first person to notice this fact. What he actually said was that the ratios between planetary orbital velocities mimic the ratios of the musical (diatonic) scale, which, as we have already seen, are (all but one) perfect multiples of one EIGHTH.
Here are just a couple of examples involving Earth and (its neighbour planet) Mars.
Mars’ orbital velocity at aphelion is almost exactly six EIGHTHS of Earth’s orbital velocity at aphelion; and Mars’ orbital velocity at perihelion is almost exactly seven EIGHTHS of Earth’s orbital velocity at perihelion.
Now I will go into this feature in detail.
CHAPTER FOURTEEN. THE “RULE OF EIGHT” IN THE COSMOS. OCTONIONS.
In the book Why Beauty is Truth. A History of Symmetry, by Professor Ian Stewart (Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at The University of Warwick, who has published 170 research papers, and many books on mathematics), published by Basic Books, 2008 (paperback), Professor Stewart tells us “There is something special about the number EIGHT - - - in terms of the underlying structure of mathematics itself” (page x of the preface)
“The underlying structure of our universe - - - is singled out by its relationships to - - - the OCTONIONS.” (page 263) (My comment:- OCTO means EIGHT.)
“The OCTONIONS are there - - - the existence of the universe may depend on them.” (page 272)
“Our universe is built from OCTONIONS.” (page 273)
“It’s an OCTONIONIC world.” (page 273) (My highlighting and capitals in the above quotes.)
CHAPTER FIFTEEN. THE “RULE OF EIGHT” AND THE HUMAN SKELETON.
The human skeleton is configured according to The Rule of Octaves, so that its elements tend to be grouped in multiples of EIGHT.
The following information is taken from Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Edition 19, Published by F.A Davis Company, Philadelphia, 2001, page 2142 and pages 1986 to 1987.
The human skeleton is composed of the following:-
Axial bones = 80 bones (8 x 10)
Upper extremities = 64 bones (8 x 8 = 64)
Vertebrae:- Cervical 7 and Thoracic 12 and Lumbar 5 – Total = 24 (3 x 8 = 24) (Note:- This does not count the sacrum and coccyx, which are not really true vertebrae.)
Ribs = 24 bones. (3 x 8 = 24)
Wrists = 16 bones (2 x 8 = 16)
Teeth:- There are 32 permanent teeth. (4 x 8 = 32)
Cranial bones – There are eight.
Ankles 14 bones, but 2 patellae have migrated to the knee joint. This makes 16 bones in all. (2 x 8 = 16)
Legs:- 2 Femurs, and 2 Tibias, and 2 Fibulas, and 2 Patellae = 8 in all.
Phalanx bones (Phalanges) of hands and feet 28 + 28 = 56 (7 x 8 = 56)
The head has the following non-floating bones (The Hyoid Bone is the only “floating bone” in the human body.):- 8 cranial, and 14 facial, and 6 auditory ossicles, and 20 primary teeth, and 32 permanent teeth. Total = 80 bones (10 x 8 = 80).
You can verify the above information by perusing the scans below, taken from Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary, Edition 19, Published by F.A Davis Company, Philadelphia, 2001, page 2142 and pages 1986 to 1987.
The following is from a Google search:-
What is the hyoid bone and what does it do?
Your hyoid bone is in the front of your neck. It supports your tongue and plays a key role in speaking and swallowing. Connected to nearby structures via ligaments, muscles and cartilage, your hyoid bone is the only “floating” bone in your body.
Furthermore, we lose 64 bones during our lives, or rather they fuse. (8 x 8 = 64). This information was gleaned from The Spectator, 17th August, 2019, page 30 (Book review entitled All Skin and Bones, by Kate Womersley – being a review of two books – The Secret Life of Bones, by Brian Switek, Pub. Duckworth, 2019, and The Remarkable Life of The Skin, by Monte Lyman, Bantam Books, 2019.
Also, there are 24 appendages to the human body. 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 arms, 2 legs. (3 x 8 = 24).
